Topaz
Topaz is Israel Nash’s 2021 studio album, recorded at his Plum Creek Sound studio in the Texas Hill Country. The album grew over the course of a year, with Nash taking a more hands-on approach to recording and production while musicians from Austin and beyond contributed to its expansive sound.
The record combines Nash’s roots in Americana and rock & roll with psychedelic textures, soulful arrangements, gospel-influenced harmonies, and prominent horns. Across Topaz, intimate songwriting sits alongside a spacious, full-band sound that reflects the landscape and atmosphere of Nash’s Texas home.
Originally released March 12, 2021, Topaz features ten songs, including “Dividing Lines,” “Closer,” “Down in the Country,” “Stay,” and “Canyonheart.”
